We have recently dealt with the same problem from one of our other clients. We have now identified that this upgrade issue occurs when the system which is being upgraded has multiple Base Locales present for the JadeReportWriterSchema. We are continuing to look into this problem, but in the interim as a number of clients are likely to encounter similar problems we have identified a work-around for this situation. I will also create an FAQ for this problem so that the work-around is covered both here in the Newsgroups and also in the FAQs on the JADE Web Site.
Work-around option #1
1) In the 6.0.17 system prior to the upgrade start the JADE Development Environment.
2) Select the JadeReportWriterSchema in the Schema Browser and then use the "Schema -> Locales" menu to open the Locales dialog.
3) On the "Clone Locale Forms and Strings" tab of this dialog make a note of the Base Locales that exist in addition to English (New Zealand).
4) On the "Select Locales" tab of this dialog remove these extra Base Locales leaving only English (New Zealand) and its clones.
5) Shutdown the JADE Development Environment.
6) Carry out the upgrade process as normal.
If desired, after the upgrade is completed you could recreate the additional Base Locales in the JadeReportWriterSchema.
Work-around option #2 - to be used if you have no backup of the 6.0.17 version of your system
1) Start the JADE Development Environment on your 6.0.18 version of your system.
2) Click "OK" on the message dialog advising that the upgrade was incomplete to start the post-upgrade validation process.
3) Assuming the post-upgrade validation encountered no errors, select the JadeReportWriterSchema and then use the "Schema -> Locales" menu to open the Locales dialog.
4) On the "Clone Locale Forms and Strings" tab of this dialog make a note of the Base Locales that exist in addition to English (New Zealand).
5) On the "Select Locales" tab of this dialog remove these extra Base Locales leaving only English (New Zealand) and its clones.
6) Shutdown the JADE Development Environment.
7) Load in the 6.0.18 version of the JadeReportWriterSchema.
If desired, after the upgrade is completed you could recreate the additional Base Locales in the JadeReportWriterSchema.
