Click/Key Press Event Outside Jade

Hi,
Does anyone know how to receive a notification within Jade of a click event/key press outside of Jade.
Say I have Jade app running but it is not the active window, can I receive a click/key press event if the user is doing something in anyother window. Instant messenger does it for those who have used that. If no mouse clicks/key presses occur within 5 minutes, it changes its staus to indicate to others that you are "Away" from your PC. As soon as you clickkey press anywhere/anything on the screen - not just the messenger window. It changes its status to "Online".
Does anyone know how to tap into this event, so I can get click and key press events in Jade even when that click in not within the Jade app?

Yes. These are called "hooks" in windows. You can add a program into a list that gets messages whenever certain events occur.

For instance there is a keyboard hook...that lets you monitor the keyboard, and a clipboard hook etc.
