Jade thin client with XP causing error

Hi,

I've just recently been brain storming with Jade support over an error our client was getting.

They were running a jade thin client on Windows 2000 and then upgraded to Windows XP Home, then the Jade app stopped working. It was giving a 14143 error (tcp/ip connection failed) then a 1217 error(app terminated).

It was the (jade.ini) RPCEncryptionEnabled=true which was causing the headaches, so we set it to RPCEncryptionEnabled=false on the app server and the thin client for the Windows XP Home computer and the Jade application worked.

Hi,

We had the same problem with Windows ME, and it was the type of encryption that was the problem. Jade did not like the Internal encryption used in WinME, as apparently it was modified from previous Windows releases. May I suggest that your problem could have been the same as ours, that is with your .ini settings the same as below.

RPCEncryptionEnabled=true
RPCEncryptionHookDLL=Internal

When the encryption was changed we were able to get it to work with WinME.

RPCEncryptionEnabled=true
RPCEncryptionHookDLL=SSL_TLS

From this I could guess that the Internal encryption in WinXP is the same as in WinME (?), and Jade have not addressed this issue yet.
