If anyone has used JADE to print (and preview) PDF documents, I'd be interested to hear what you used to do this, and how sucessful it was, especially on thin client.

Thanks,

I've used Adobe PDF Writer. It installs as a print driver which redirects print jobs to PDF files. Works great. There also the "Ghost" with all of you with Unix background (command line arguments as long as my arm). Advantage of using Ghost is that it is free (Adobe PDF Writer isn't).

Cheers,

Hido

We use PDF documents as online help files. The PDF help files are distributed with the thin client installation and are therefore on the client side. The help window uses the PDF control. To make the help file context sensitive, we use the Form.tag attribute as a descriptor which is identical to the appropriate bookmarks in the PDF file. When opening the PDF file from a certain form, the Form.tag of that form is passed as the bookmark to the PDF file which then is opened at the correct page. That works very fine with us. It also has the advantage that the user has a nicely formatted help file (hard copy) on his side and can refer offline to it as well.
