Changing a Class Map File once instances created

I am wondering if anybody has found a quick, and easy, way to change a class map file once instances of that class (or subclass) have already been created. I find that the Map drop-down is disabled.

Clearly, I could just purge the instances and then do the change, but I can't lose the data that has already been created.

Or, am I stuck with the map files I selected when I created the class?

Check out the topic "changing map file of a class" posted on the 5th February 2005 in the jade_tech_general Newsgroup.

This details a way to move a class with instances to a different mapfile.

If you already have "production" systems as well you'll need to run the same process on each system.

Cheers,
BeeJay.
