getHttpValue --> convert HEX to ASCII value

Jade HTML Thin Client Using HTML Documents:

When using the getHttpValue method to get the input on web pages, some characters will be returned as HEX value, e.g. + will be +, ë will be ë.

Is there an existing method in JADE or technique to convert this HEX value back to ASCII?

There was an earlier thread titled "hex from string" in the jade_tech_general board that has some sample code that may be of some use - although as Allistar said the code needs some enhancing to handle "0" characters....
