ODBC to RDBMS for data conversion

I am trying to use the External Database connection from Jade to link with a legacy RDBMS via ODBC so I an extract data to convert the legacy data to the Jade app.

However, when I get as far as defining the Data source (using a valid working ODBC connection) Jade begins "Reading Tables" and hangs.

The ODBC connection works fine from Excel and Crystal Reports and only takes a split second to connect and read the available tables - only Jade has the problem.

Is there some trick I am missing?

Steve

Steve also reported this as a fault to JADE Support.

For the benefit of other Newsgroup readers this problem was resolved as follows:

1) We supplied a test harness program that contains the catalog import functions that we perform from JADE with the code that updates the JADE schema removed and a Windows front end added.

2) Various internal trace messages and any exceptions were logged to the display window.

3) We included the source so that if it crashes as expected, then the ODBC driver vendor can use this to help diagnose the problem.

4) Using this program, the ODBC Driver vendor was able to ascertain that they had fixed their problem in the latest version of the ODBC Driver available for download from their Web Site.

Thanks,
JADE Support.
