Email send over Microsoft Exchange Server

Hi,

I have been writing a program that uses a TCP/IP connection to send data over the internet. I would now like my program to, at the end, automatically email the relevant staff member to inform them of any errors etc that may have occured, or to simply say that everything was ok.

I have searched through newsgroups etc for info on sending emails but not found a great deal, and the documentation is very vague on the subject. Does anybody know a sure-fire simple way to make a JADE program automatically create and send an email? Our mail server uses Microsoft Exchange. Any help would be great.

Regards,

Rich

One thing you could do is use the Jade Care Start schema (http://www.jadeworld.com/jadecare/download.htm). It contains classes that allow you to send SMTP messages.

The only down side is that the Jade Care Start schema will need to be loaded above yours in the schema hierarchy, so that could be problematic if you have already deployed your application.

You could deploy it as a peer schema, and add a new subschema underneath it which exports a package to your main schema.

He has already mentioned using CardSchema. What classes are involved for this?

The JADECare Start (ie: CardSchema) zip available via the link at the bottom of this page:

http://www.jadeworld.com/jadecare/license3109.htm

contains documentation specifically for the SMTP class (SMTPClass.doc) and an example Mail schema (Mail.scm/ddb).
