New JADE Server installation

We are in the process of implementing a JADE Server and looking for configuration or best practice recommendations for building a Database Server. The Server available is a HP ML350, Dual 3GHz Processor with 2GB Ram and 6 x 72.8GB SCSI Drives running W2K Server. The JADE Environmental Considerations Deployment Guide suggest a RAID 1 configuration, however is vague on any other suggestions. My first thought was to configure the Server with RAID 1 + 1 Hot Spare. C:\ partition 20GB and remaining space available on the D:\ (Data partion). We will be running multiple JADE databases (1-3). The Server will only house JADE / Greentree databases.

Does anyone have any suggestions, case studies, or recommendations on best practice Server Configurations/Installation?
Many Thanks for any suggestions in advance.

We use similar spec servers. But they only have 5 drives

We mirror 2 drives and have 20 gig partition for system the
rest of the drive is an audit partion.

next 2 drives are mirrored and used for database partition
with one drive left for hot spare.

Then audit io and database io are always on physically seperate drives

We've recently set up an IBM x225 for our live Jade DBs. It has 6 drive bays, and I wanted to take online backups to disk on the same server to minimise backup time (they go to a USB drive afterwards, then into the safe). So, I configured 2 drive bays with 140GB drives configured as RAID 1 to hold the OS (drive C:) , Jade audits and the backups (drive F:), then set up the other 4 bays with 70 GB drives configured as RAID 0+1 for the databases (drive E:).

Then I pulled one of the drives out without marking it as bad and had to do the whole thing again.

HTH.
