Web Service Basics

Postby ConvertFromOldNGs » Fri Aug 07, 2009 1:01 pm

I am new to web services in Jade. I am trying to set up a provider ws. I have downloaded the EnronInvestments demo app and have got the ws going (using Jade61). However when I create my own ws I get the message "Service Unavailable" appear in my browser (see attachment). I am using Jade60. Any assistance would be appreciated.

At the same level as your virtual directory folder, you should have another folder called <virtual directory>_jadehttp. In this folder there should be an "ini" folder that contains the jadehttp.ini file. The jadehttp.ini file needs to contain a section that matches your Web Service Provider application name in order for this to be opened up to IIS. Am just wondering whether or not you have this in your jadehttp.ini file? So if you Web Service Provider application name is "PlanBuilderWebService", then a [PlanBuilderWebService] section needs to be in your jadehttp.ini file.

Thanks for your reply. Yes I do have a [PlanBuilderWebService] in the Jadehttp.ini file.
See the attachments to show settings in IIS, the Jade directory structure and Jadehttp.ini settings

Can you please post a screen shots of the "Application" and "Web Options" sheets for your Web Service Provider application (these are sheets on the Define Application dialog).

What happens when you select "Open Browser" from the File menu of the Web Application Monitor for your Web Service application? The Web Application Monitor is the window that appears (on the server-side) when you run your Web Service application.
