Exclusive references

It would be very handy if Jade allowed you to specify that a reference is "exclusive" in the same way you can will collections. This will save having code in the create and delete methods (which in themselves pose issues, one of which is that they don't work when checked out to a delta).

Does anyone else think this is a good idea?

Hmm, I spoke too soon. PAR#39171 and #18259 have alredy been raised as NFSs for this. The earliest of these was raised in 2005.

I'd find that very useful as well so I'll be adding my own NFS requesting the feature. It would be a more elegant approach than the current technique of creating and deleting them via constructors and destructors, although some may argue it may be less obvious than the current approach.

Note: I believe that when NFSes are being reviewed the number of duplicates can have an impact on the perceived importance, or otherwise, of a given request. ie: Don't let the existing NFSes put you off adding your own, assuming one of the duplicates is not already your own NFS of course. Just be sure to mention that it can be linked as a duplicate of "Par nnnnn" when you put in a duplicate NFS request to save the Jade Support Team some time/effort.
