jadehttp.dll not found with localhost

Hi,

I am installing demo versions of our web apps on to a laptop and i am having trouble getting Internet Explorer to run the pages. I have set up the apps, the .ini files and i have set up IIS. Within IIS i have set up two virtual directories within the default website, which are allowed to run scripts and executables, and i have set the ports in the .ini files.

The problem is when i play the application and navigate to http:\\localhost\jadehttp.dll on IE i get the error "The specified module could not be found.". I can run .htm files from the same directory and they work fine, and jadehttp.dll is definitely in the folder so i don't understand how it cannot be found.

I am assuming this is a security / permissions issue but i am not sure. Everything seems to be set up the same as other PC's running the demo system.

Any help on this matter will be appreciated.

Cheers.

Rich C

You need to append the http:\\localhost\jadehttp.dll with a question mark and your web application name

e.g. http:\\localhost\jadehttp.dll?WebApp

I think the <WebApp> is the "module" the error message is talking about - you haven't told jadehttp.dll what module/application to run.

You may also need to setup in IIS that it is allowed to run this DLL.

In IIS, select the Web Service Extensions option. You will need to add a new extension and specify the Jadehttp.dll. This needs to be done for each web site. If this is not done, then IIS will not allow the dll to be run.

In addition to the other responses, the "The specified module could not be found" message can be displayed if the virtual directory used in the application URL is incorrect.
