Jade vs Joob

With the advent of Joob, if one was to start a new Jade application that required a highly rich user interface does Jade recommend doing this in native Jade or with Joob and .NET Presentation layer?

To a large extent it depends on factors other than the UI style, which could be delivered by either architecture.

You could build the system using JADE 6, and the upcoming Silverlight Thin Client and/or the .NET Class Libraries to integrate with a .NET presentation tier if required.

Or, you could build the application in .NET, with the option to store your data in the JOOB high performance storage manager, rather than using, say, SQL Server.

JADE 6 provides a single language integrated development and runtime environment with a focus on ease of use and will run on multiple platforms.

JOOB is a highly optimised storage product competing in the DBMS market that is available for .NET users with high performance and throughput requirements.

The drivers for the choice of platform will include portability needs, performance requirements, platform familiarity, and interoperability requirements.

Will there be a migration path between JADE and JOOB?

I'm guessing not, but thought it was worth asking.

There's no migration currently planned. But if you want to write .NET code against a JADE server-side, you can do that already using JADE 6.3's .NET Class Library feature.
