How to I import Jade Skins from Jade 5.1 to Jade 6.0??

Write your own script to extract your 5.1 skins and then an inverse script to load these into your 6.0 environment. Unfortunately you'll still be using the old style skin mechanism so you won't have the same level of flexibility as they've now added for the 6.0 release but at least they made these backwards compatible in Jade 6.0. I'm not positive, but I seem to remember that CardSchema used to have a facility for extracting and loading these old style skins so you might be able to use that?

Alternately, if you have not created your own custom skins, you could try asking the guys at Jade if you can have a copy of the ones they ship with the IDE in 6.0. If you want to create your own custom skins using the 6.0 version of skins good luck to you because it looks like you need to provide several hundred images for a complete 6.0 skin so it's going to take a long time to create one!!!

Perhaps they could make the IDE skins available for download somewhere on the Jade Web Site so we can more easily use them in our own apps? Hint hint!!

Due to popular request, the JADE 6.0 skins currently shipped for use in the JADE Development Environment have now been made available for download from the JADE Web Site. Use the hyperlink under the "Additional Downloads" heading on the following page:

There is a readme.txt file included in the zip archive that explains how to load these into your JADE environment(s) so that they are available for use from within your own applications.

I get an error when trying to import the skins.

The version of the skins that are available for download are for JADE 6.0.17. If you try to load these into a 6.0.16 system you will get the error indicated.

The reason for this is the 6.0.17 release now has additional skin elements for the ProgressBar and the JadeRichtText controls.

Great to see the skins have now been made available - just a shame I have to upgrade to 6.0.17 to be able to use them. I wonder if we can just edit the file to remove the extra bits that stops it loading into 6.0.16.... I might try looking into that tomorrow.
