Error = 3125; Database Open Failed

Hello,

I have just reinstalled Jade and copied all of the backup files straight into the system folder.

When I try to run Jade, I get the following message:

"Error = 3125; A required tansaction journal was not found.
Database Open Failed;

Has anyone come across this problem before?

Did the database crash beforehand? If it did not shut down cleanly, it will look for audit journals so it can do recovery. They are named db000....log, usually in logs\current. The journals matching the BACKUP are the ones required. Backups should always include the audit journals, especially if the database did not stop cleanly. I normally start and stop the database (using singleUser or jadrap) before doing a backup, to ensure it doesn't need recovery on startup.

Cheers,
John P

The error messaage (or the jommasg.log file) should say what the name of the required journal file is. It is likely sitting in the system directory and will need ot be moved to the logs directory (usually syatem/logs/current).

Allistar.
