saving picture links

Hi Everyone

In windows you can right click the mouse and use 'save picture as' to save a web picture.

How do you do this from a source link?

i.e. A JadeRichText box shows all the source text URL links from a web page, some of these are 'gif' picture links. The link is saved in a listbox. I want the user to be able to click the link (in the listbox) and allow him/her to save the picture into a folder.

Ive attempted and failed with some tests ive created.

Anybody have an idea?

You'll need to use a library or utility that, given a URL, can download the file at that URL. I am unsure is there is anything native in JADE that will do this but there may be. You should be able to find a dll or active X component that will do this for you. There is an open source application called "wget" that does this, you may be able to find a Windows version of this that you can then interface to.

Regards,
Allistar.

We use a product called Coalesys HttpClient Library.
Its a freebie ActiveX DLL that imports easily into Jade and amoungst other thing does what you are after very easily. http://www.coalesys.com/products/httpclient/features/
