Schema and UNL Extract Sort Order

Postby Michael.Duraj » Tue Sep 03, 2013 3:37 pm

Is is possible to control the sort order of a unl extract or schema extract.

Performing a difference analysis from our source control can be a pain as the sort order of methods extracted is inconsistant across multiple developers.
Methods that have not changed move their position in the extracted even when they have not been changed.

You may find the Extracting Schemas in Sections option of the JadeBatchExtract application provides you with a more source control friendly view of your schemas with respect to comparing changes between versions of your source.

For the Jade 7.0 documentation, this is covered on pages 451-452 of the UserGuide.pdf file.

Hope that helps.

Cheers,
BeeJay.

In JADE 7.0 a full schema extract now extracts the methods in each class in name order, so the sort order should be consistent across developers.

I haven't used Jade 7 or later yet, an option on Extract... to [x] Extract Multiple Files for a given unl would be great. One file for each method or class extract.

We've got [x] Load Multiple Files but can't seem to create multiple mth, cls files for a given unl from the IDE?
