CardSchema Environment Variable Setup

Hi Jade Developers,

Wonder if any has met with this problem that seems to be from
CardSchema?
Error message source :

logpath:=emGetEnvironmentVariable("TEMP");


I think there must be folder called "TEMP" in server PC according to LogPath of [CardLog] Section in jade.ini of system, is it right?

Is there any other causes or solution to this problem. It seems to
vary from system to system, because sometimes we have problems duplicating it, but on certain systems it seems to be a constant
error.

Hi,

I'd interpret the 'TEMP' as a PC Environment Variable (Eg. C:\Temp) which Jade is using to setup the logpath property.

I'd check to see if the PC is setup with a valid TEMP environment variable.

Me too. An environment variable is different from a ini file setting.

The way to check the environment variable is get a command line and enter

set temp

to display the current value.

Hi..
That's why I cannot understand sometimes. I would think that for
NT/2000, there's always the Temp environment declared.

Noticed that sometimes on client side (which turns out to be Win98 or WinMe) would surface also. Does that mean that everytime we setup a
new client, we've got to make sure. Sounds a bit tedious. Would think that it would default to the TEMP where the JOMMSG.log is stored. That would have solved the problem right?

For Windows NT, the TEMP variable is defined in Control Panel's 'System' window, on the Environment tab.

For Windows 2000, the variable is set up in Control Panel's 'System' window, on the Advanced tab select Environment Variables.

For Win95/98, in your autoexec.bat file you should have a statement

SET TEMP= <path>

where <path> is C:\TEMP or other appropriate directory. Reboot after changing your autoexec.

If you still have problems after ensuring that the TEMP variable is correctly defined, then please e-mail me directly specifying

1. Version of CardSchema you are using. CardSchema version is defined in CnCntrl class constant CardSchema_Version.

2. Version of karma.dll in use : use Explorer 'Properties' dialog to obtain karma.dll version.

3. Specify application type (ANSI or Unicode).
