Scrolling a list box

Afternoon All,
I've got the situation where I've got a list of items and I'm trying to drag and drop to an item in the list. What I'm finding is that the cursor is moving faster that the items in the listbox are getting highlighted. So by the time the cursor is at the bottom of the listbox the highlight bar is miles behind it.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this problem so they are shown together.
