AppServer "Run As Service" disabled

Postby concord » Wed Mar 23, 2011 2:11 pm

I've installed countless Jade systems over the years, always running a single user JadeApp and most of the time as a service.

Today on a Windows7 Professional PC I found the "Run As Service" menu item on the Jade Application Server window disabled.

This is a first for me, and I haven't had any luck finding the cause. Any ideas?

Try right clicking and choosing "Run as administrator".

In Vista and later you need elevated permissions to modify the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE registry key which is where services are defined, so in order to create/modify/delete services, JadApp needs to be started with elevated permissions.
