The thin client is great at informing the user when its downloading a large time consuming hunk of data.
We You attach a file from the local machine to an object and it sends it to the app server, it just sits their with a half drawn screen like its crashed. But of course behind the scenes the file is uploading.
Users will wait if they think everything is ok and nornal.
