OS requirements for thin-clients in near future

Hi there

We have workstations in an industrial setting that are effectively Jade thin-client workstations, nothing more, and are pretty outdated specs but adequate.

In connection with various low-cost options we have at the moment in terms of upgrading them for 6.3 (they were running NT)... is Windows 2000 likely to remain as an option for Jade thin-client workstations for some time in the future?

Regards
David

Microsoft's extended support for Windows 2000 currently ends in July 2010:

http://support.microsoft.com/gp/lifean36

http://support.microsoft.com/lifecycle/ ... z&x=13&y=8

So we will support the thin client on Windows 2000 until at least JADE 6.3.5 (through until end July 2010). Note that the minimum supported Windows 2000 requirements are:

Windows 2000 Professional (minimum) with SP4 and Update Rollup 1

Operational requirements and supported OSs are always available at this page on our web site:

http://www.jadeworld.com/jade/op_reqs.htm

Typically, when an OS vendor ceases mainstream support for an OS, our support for that OS will cease with the next major or minor feature release of JADE.

Dean.
