C++ in JADE

Postby ConvertFromOldNGs » Fri Aug 07, 2009 10:41 am

Since I can't bring Agent directly into JADE I have decided that C++ is the only way to go. I have heard that JADE can import files from Visual C++ (I have that), But I am wondering... 1)Does JADE convert the C++ to JADE? 2)Can I get JADE to edit the C++ code (suring runtime)?
3)What type of editing does it support?
4)How well is it integrated?

Thanks,
Philip Q

JADE doesn't import source code from any other languages. Are you thinking of JADE's facility to import ActiveX components (which may or may not have been written in Visual C++)? JADE can import these, but not at a source code level (ie: it imports the built component, not the code from which it was built).

Dean.

Remember Jade has this wonderful feature of calling external functions. You could create a agent object for each agent there is on a program. Or maybe there is only one for each program. You could create a reference in the app class.

But still I think that Jade is a database program that should not be used like that. I have somehow managed to live without things like that. I think you should concentrate your efforts on other things like the rest of the program.

The program will have database applications as well. I'm using is as a Personal Assistant Manager which only uses Agent for convinience. And it is NOT copying your idea, it is quite different from the name.

Well, I hope it isn't copying my idea!
