Class Explorer and Object Browser tools

This is a notice of a new tool that I've developed called the Class Explorer, and an update to an earlier posting on the Object Browser.

These are Jade applications that load as independent schemas and let you look at existing database definitions and data. Time-limited versions are available at no cost directly from the author - email chris.power at nettel.net.nz.

Class Explorer is a tool for understanding existing schema definitions. It generates graphical representations of relationships between classes, integrated with a class browser in the style of the JADE development environment. Discovering class relationships is straightforward and aided by browser-style navigation. Creating a set of views of a data model as a permanent repository is quick and easy. The resulting views provide common ground for business analysts, designers and developers.

Object Browser is a JADE developer’s tool for managing database instances. It provides an interface by which the developer can view and edit persistent data.

I have new versions of Class Explorer (2.3) and Object Browser (2.3) available. Email me for new fully functional, time-limited versions. The attachment has release notes for Class Explorer, and includes some screen shots and gives you some idea of what it does.

Class Explorer version 3 includes a new diagramming tool for capturing chains of method calls. This is good for documenting and refactoring. See the attached product summary for illustrations and further details. Contact me by email chris.power@nettel.net.nz for a free version good for 12 months.

I've edited the 'e-mail address' in your original message to help clarify this. Unfortunately the original message was converted from the old format Newsgroups so you wouldn't have access to update it yourself as it is effectively under the 'ConvertedFromOldNGs' user profile.

Cheers,
BeeJay.
