Don

You may want to extend your "Feedback Wanted" to the JADE community unable to access this newsgroup due to corporate firewall restrictions (IBM springs to mind). I am sure they would prefer a browser based option.

In case some people haven't used a web-based 'news group' or conferencing facility, an example can be viewed at:

http://communities.microsoft.com/newsgroups/ .

Note: that this M$ site doesn't remember what messages you have read.

I think remembering messages read could be supported with a browser interface. It is probably outside the limits of a cookie based session state saver mechanism; however, another approach is to preserve user or session state on the server-side.

Perhaps the interface used on the FAQ page could also be looked at while looking at the newsgroup web interface. I would like to see a listing of the FAQ's in reverse date order as often there are interesting tidbits but they are currently burried in 3 years of postings.

We are also looking at this.

We propose the following options:

- View all (as current, subdivided by category)
- View all (by date, or by reverse date)
- View by category (access an initial directory page showing list of categories, click on a category to view all PARs in that category)

Any other thoughts??

P.S. In case anyone doesn't know this, 'YOUR' Contacts = 'YOUR ORG's Contacts' - that is, PARs reference the organisation and not the person initiating the PAR.

regards
Don Rae
