Ideas for painter.

Do others think it would be helpful if the painter created a small (say 100X100 pixel) bitmap of each form that you could see from the class browser.

ie when you clicked on a form class in the browser a wee thumbnail would appear under the class/superclass etc information.

I would also like to see an optional tree view of the current form in painter (on the left edge of the painter frame) This would be very usefull when you have complex controls with lots of frames.

eg

MyForm
Frame1
ListBox
Button
Frame2
Frame3

etc.

Selecting a control in the tree would select the control in painter and bring all the parent controls to the front (ie make it visible, regardless of where abouts on the form it is).

It would also be handy for multi selecting controls with different parents.

Comments, anyone?

I would be happy if "Update All Selected Controls" was on by default.

While some may be used to how it works now, I havnt seen a single form designer, or painting program that only ever edits the last selected object only.

Amen to that! If I wasn't paranoid and rechecked all the selected controls, some changes I thought I did would not have happened.

Another idea...

Often I'm in the class browser for a Form class. It would be really nice if the property sheet values were displayed in the bottom pane when I clicked on a control property. It is really annoying to have to go into the Painter to view (say) the height of a control, or the caption of a form.
