PreDownload Items for Jade Upgrade

Having about a hundred Jade thin clients spread across the country on the end of 64K kilostream lines (and a few modem users to boot), I'm keen to make use of predownload to minimise the impact of Jade server upgrades. Essentially, the strategy will be to populate the app server's predownload directory with all the files needed for the upgrade about three/four weeks in advance of the server upgrade. The clients can then download these quietly in the background while they work away in Jade. Then, when we upgrade the server, there's no delay for the clients while they pull 4MB of binaries, etc, down the line. What I'd like to know is:

(1) What should I put into the server's predownload folder - all the stuff from the /bin folder of the new Jade version?

(2) Are the downloads resumable? ie, if a modem client successfully downloads some files then drops the line, will the same files be downloaded again the next time the client connects or will the download resume with the remaining files?
