Security Code Generator

I have a need to create an individual security code and print it on each wool certificate . I was hoping to print something formatted like a Microsoft Licence Key (ie 5 groups of numbers and letters) so users who have this wool certificate and the correct security code could key it in on a web site to check its authenticity. Are there any tools in Jade to assist with the generation of such a code?? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

David

Assuming there is no information stored in the key (i.e. it is only used for checking authenticity) couldn't you just generate the appropriate number of random letters as the key, storing this in the database so a look up can be done on the web for validation?
