** Oops, this is a plain text version of same posting **

Moving to Acrobat format for online help in Jade 6 seems to be a retrograde step for those Windows platform developers used to the Jade 5 format - so thanks to a collegue for pointing me in the direction of the setup instructions which are buried away on pages 85, 86 of the Jade Users Guide ..... perhaps they should be referenced in the readme.txt.

If you haven't come across this yourself yet, then the same context-sensitive (F1) and indexed search facilities are still available for the Acrobat files, there's just a simple manual step you have to perform first, which is to load the catalogue index (the JADEindex.pdx file) into Acrobat, then indexed access works properly (and you can also now search through all the documentation, not just the developer reference material).

I've copied the basic instructions to load the index file -

To add the index to the indexes currently available for your Acrobat searches

1. Perform one of the following actions.
- Select the Search command from the Edit menu.
- Click the Search toolbar button.
- Press CTRL+F.
The Search PDF pane is then displayed at the right of the Adobe Reader window.

2. In the Look In list box, select the Select Index. item. The Index selection dialog is then displayed.

3. To add the index:
a. Click the Add button.
b. In the standard Open Index dialog, navigate to the directory into which the product information library was installed.
c. Double-click on the PDX file (that is, JADEindex.pdx) or select the index and then click the Open button to select the index and close the dialog.
