Greetings all, and a happy new millennium to everyone!!!

OK, now we're back from holiday, it's time to get back to some serious business. A thought occurred to me while I was away, and this is an idea that would really take JADE into new territory.

If I wanted to set up an e-commerce site (say, something like e-bay) using JADE and wanted to update the system from time to time, I'd have to take the system down for maintenance periodically. When you've got a large world-wide user population, you cannot afford to have down time AT ALL. So, what would it take to design JADE so that updates could be applied in real time while a system was live?

I imagine it could be done, something along the lines of the new online backup... but I'll await responses from plant-type people (triffids excluded).

Craig.

It would still be very useful even if we could only load in methods to a live production system (no re-org). Most of our patches are simple code fixes in one or two methods, but we still have to kick out all our users when doing an "upgrade".
