Even in this holiday season, I would not indulge myself in the joys of research when the experience of others is available ...
Has anyone used the Micro$oft-Web Browser active-x control embedded in a JADE form? Tips, problems or code appreciated.
Thanks,
Rob

We used the following Mirco$oft Web Browser library: shdocvw.dll which comes with the Internet Explorer. Just import it as an ActiveX control
in the painter and off you go. This control provides basic
functionality; other functions such as printing and filing to Favourites etc. has to be done at run time via right-mouse click on the active web page. We import the Favourites into an list box on the browser form
using the local computer settings. In thin client mode we experienced no problems with the browser itself and the Favourites although a large amount of Favourites slows the population of the list box down.
Hope, it helps. If you need more details or want to test our browser, just email me.
Cheers,
Jens

Jens, Eric and Richard - thanks for the assistance.
As you all indicated, it's fairly easy to use - the hardest part was finding where MS had put the documentation this week!
Unfortunately, as I can't guarantee, or specify the correct version of
MS internet dlls on the client machines, then the active-x web browser has no future in my JADE thin client solution.
Cheers,
Rob
