Hi,

I've been using JADE 6.0.3, but want to upgrade to 7.0.03 with 32 bit windows.

I deleted all JADE files from my computer, uninstalled JADE, and am trying a clean install, Idownloaded 32 bit unicode version. Should this work on 32 bit windows, standard Dell windows vista laptop? Do i choose Jade client when it asks during installation if i want to install client Jade client, application runtime, or presentation client?

During installation it says: specify the connection parameters to the JADE database server, and its pre-filled in with <dbpath> <dbhost> <dbport> Do i leave this as is?

I just downloaded it, and installed it, and it said installation complete, and then that was that. Nothing else happened. So i go into the folder "C:\Jade70\bin" and click the jade.exe file, as it didnt put any shortcuts on the desktop etc nor did it ask if i wanted it to. When i click jade.exe it says: error 14110 : Application to be executed must be included in the command line.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

You need to be running a 64bit Windows OS on any machine that will be used for hosting a Jade 7.0 database.

The InstallShield that you have run is for the installation of a 32bit Standard Client. The parameters that you mention you didn't change are the details required for that 32bit Standard Client to connect to the 64bit machine that is hosting your Jade 7.0 database.

If you don't have access to a machine running a 64bit Windows OS, unfortunately you won't be able to run a Jade 7.0 database.

Cheers,
BeeJay.
