Hi

Jade runs under Windows 7 (32 and 64 bit)

The standard Jade Install normally installs Jade to a folder directly off the root directory (e.g. c:\Jade63) . This avoids the issues with the User Account Control that appear if the system was installed under c:\Program Files.

On our deployed systems, we follow this convention and install the systems directly off the root directory (although normally on a separate disk rather than on the same drive as the operating system.)

We created our own installer for the Jade thin clients using the instructions in the Read Me Install Steps file that is in the documentation folder. All the static files (*.exe, *.dll etc) are installed under program files and the working files etc are installed under program data. One thing to note if you are going to do this, is that Jade does update the INI file when it starts so it's best to put the INI file under the program data directory structure. (I think we also needed to explicitly set write permissions on our folder under Program Data as well.)

It's also worth looking at the documentation on the INI file settings for the thin clients. You can change the location of the temporary files created by Jade. Our settings are:

[JadeEnvironment]
JadeWorkDirectory=<default>
ProgramDataDirectory=<programdata>
UserDataDirectory=<userdata>

This also works in the Windows Server 2008 Terminal Server environment.
