I just tried to upgrade to 6.3.7 using the Install file from
www.jade.co.nz/jade and got the -5005 error on the installShield.
But when I tried 6.3.6 it worked fine. Could be a potential problem with the install file?
Have many people upgraded without any problems?

I've upgraded 3 different systems without any issues.
I did have a problem on one of our servers when upgrading to 6.3.06 whereby I had to create a shortcut to the InstallShield with -wait on the end of the command line to get it to work.
Refer this FAQ for more details:

Perhaps the same trick will work for your upgrade issue?
Cheers,
BeeJay.

No the -wait command did not resolve the issue for me. I created a shortcut with the -wait command and that didn't work so I tried creating a batch file and no luck there either.
The strange thing is that I tried this upgrade on 2 different computers with different operating systems. XP and Server 2003.
There was not much useful information on the web about the -5005 install shield error. Except for try deleting the install shield folder. I did this and it still didn't work.
6.3.6 works for us and we don't really need anything in 6.3.7 so its not a big issue at the moment.

I've now tried the InstallShield on 4 different machines, WinXP Home Edition, WinXP Professional, Windows Vista Professional (64 bit) and Windows 7 Professional (64 bit) and it runs fine on all those machines.
I have seen strange errors like this previously with other InstallShields when the file got "corrupted" during the download process. Perhaps try downloading a fresh copy of the InstallShield and see if it will then launch correctly?
Cheers,
BeeJay.

I have seen an issue with install shields in the past on some operating systems, where they fail if run from the root directory of a drive. So for example it would work fine if run from c:\temp but not from c:\. Don't know if that might still be an issue.

I did try to download it twice. Maybe I will try it from the CD (if we have got a copy of it).
I wasn't doing the load from the root directory either, it was a folder off the desktop.

Important
A critical hot fix for JADE 6.3.07 (.006) has been released and should be applied to all databases running this version of JADE.
For full details on the issue please see this
thread in the Jade Source Bulletins forum.
Thank you,
