On the new Jade website is a page for something called JOOB. Is there any more information about what exactly this is?

JOOB is a new product that we will be launching this year based on the Object Manager and OO Database that underpin JADE. It will be targeted at .NET developers and the .NET ecosystem.

JOOB will deliver high performance data storage and retrieval with high concurrency, scalability and reliability using a native .NET programming interface. We aim to be the easiest-to-use object data store for .NET by delivering:
  • Advanced caching and distribution of data for scalable applications
  • Freedom from relational constraints – significant performance gains for complex object models
  • Full ACID compliance and proven production resilience
  • Natural storage of media rich application objects and relationships
More information will follow as we work towards a beta release in mid-2010, so watch this space!

Dean.
