Citrix and Jade

my business currently hosts two jade databases on 2 separate server farms.

Server Farm 1
* Jade Version = 6.1.10+006+010+013+015+016
* Citrix Version = 4.5.1
* Citrix Client = 10.00.52110

Server Farm 2
* Jade Version = 6.1.08.065.40
* Citrix Version = 4.5.2
* Citrix Client = 10.100.55836

When running the Jade program in Server Farm 2 via Citrix interface the jade program takes up the whole screen and we cannot see the task bar.

When running the Jade program in Server Farm 1 via Citrix interface the jade program takes up a portion of the screen and we can see the task bar.

Is anyone aware of issues with Jade Version and Citrix version and the screen being maxmised to extent where the task bar is not showing???

Thanks James :)

We've had issues with windows and skins in Jade, not related to the citrix versions though. Jade does not resize properly on a second monitor when a skin is applied to the development environment.

You can turn the skin off by going into the Options | Preferences menu, on the Window Tab, set the skin to <none> (Bottom left.) This resolves the resizing issues with a second monitor and may resolve the issues with Citrix

There is a catch, Jade uses the skin set for your windows user name (what you log into the machine with,) not the user name that you sign into Jade with (on the Jade login screen.) If you have to log into Jade with a different user name than you windows user, then you will need to login as the windows user to Jade and set the skin to none.

Hi Torrie,

Thank you for your response (have been tearing the hair out trying to figure the issue).

To make sure I am 100% sure of what you are saying:

1) If I log into Citrix server with username = JAMES01
2) If I then log into the Jade application with username = JAMES01, and change skin to NONE
3) In above situation I would be fine.

1) If I log into Citrix server with username = SUPER
2) If I then log into the Jade application with username = JAMES01, and change skin to NONE
3) In above situation it would not fix it.

Am I correct?

thanks

James

Also you mention 2 montiors, I don't have 2 monitors and I still get the issue?

Perplexing I must say....

Yes James, that's correct. We've logged this with Jade (PAR#43004) I don't know if removing the skin would resolve your issue on citrix (we don't use citrix), but it did resolve the issue we have with dual monitors and the size of the Jade forms.

I think within Citrix it's possible to set up the application so that it does consume the entire virtual desktop. So are your Citrix server and client settings the same across both farms and both sets of clients?

Sorry, I don't know where this setting is in Citrix. I'm just going on info I've heard from ops people who know a lot more about Citrix than I do! :-)

Dean.

You are correct Dean, there is such a setting and I have made sure the 2 server farms are setup in the same way (in regards to this setting). However still an issue. Therefore I can only assume a conflict with the Jade Version and the Citrix version as I run other applications (excel) in the same citrix sessions and I do not have the same issue.

Thank you for your response

It would appear from Internet posts that other people are experiencing this problem with Citrix after upgrading, so perhaps it's a general Citrix issue?
