Sending emails via Exchange Server

Postby stevek2 » Wed Jul 12, 2017 12:47 pm

Hi All

We use CnSMTPConnection to send emails either via local SMTP server or via local Exchange Server.
The local SMTP server is no problem but we have endless issues with IT depts trying to set Exchange Server to send the emails from our application.

Most times we can only send emails to internal addresses (within organisation) and the external email addresses are being ignored/rejected by Exchange Server

As we are not familiar with Exchange Server can anyone with similar experience advise what we should advise the customer IT depts to be checking in Exchange Server setup that will allow the emails with external addresses to pass through?

We've never had any of our clients report issues with getting the e-mails sending, so either they're not using exchange, not encountering this issue or not sending any e-mails external to their organisation. If you do find out what in particular is blocking this, please do share it with the rest of us in case we encounter similar issues in future as I suspect quite a lot of us probably use the CardSchema CnSmtp classes for sending e-mails from our systems.

Cheers,
BeeJay.
