Jade on Debian/Ubuntu ?

Jade has versions for Red Hat and SUSE Linux.
Has anyone had a go at getting Jade going (even as client) on Ubuntu or Debian?
Is Alien any use for modifying the .rpms?

Don't know of anyone who has got it going on Debian or Ubuntu.

I run the RHEL release on CentOS. Works fine, even external functions work with no problems.

Someone also got the SUSE version going on Gentoo (see http://www.jadeworld.com/bin/jadehttp.d ... ngmsg=3686)

Only the RHEL and SUSE versions are supported by NZ. The official line is that JADE may work on another version of Linux but there won't be any support and any problems must be reproduced on RHEL or SUSE before being submitted. However, CentOS is built from the published RHEL sources anyway - you just don't get the RedHat logos or the support - so I'm fairly confident that CentOS will continue to work on into the future. Other distros could be more risky.

Cheers, Brendan
