JADE compatible ActiveX for viewing documents

Hello,

We're looking for an ActiveX that's compatible with JADE. This is for a self contained Jade system on CDROM that handles documents. The control needs to be able to view RTF files and provide printing, text search and a document map. I've looked at TxTextControl from (http://www.textcontrol.com) which seems okay but doesn't provide support for a document map. There's a WebBrowser control from Microsoft which can bring up the document using WordViewer, but this doesn't work at all well.

So, if anybody out there has come across a control that does this kind of thing well then we'd like to know about it.

The best document viewer ActiveX we've come across is the Adobe Acrobat Reader but that only handles PDF files. We'd have to convert the RTF into PDF and do some jiggery pokery to get the document map (bookmark) feature to work. You can do this by using an Adobe add-on to Word called PDFMaker. This appears as an extra menu option on Word's File menu. If anybody has experience driving Word from a JADE app (presumably using an Ocx control) then it'd be good to hear about that as well.

Thanks,

Eric in Dunedin
