Hi,
Has anyone had any experience with clustering a Jade server that could possibly point me in the right direction. We are wanting to set up a server cluster with the secondary server in an Active Passive mode. ie, it will not be handling any requests or used in a load balancing type environment, but purely just mirroring everything, so if the other server goes offline, then this secondary server will kick in, and handle all requests until the other server comes back online. So its being used as a backup server incase for whatever reason the main server goes offline.
There is quite a sizable range of products that do this but its just trying to sort out which one, and which will work with Jade. The server is running only Jade, and IIS.
Jade server is jadrap, 1 x jadapp, 1 x background processor and web monitors.
I realise there is now the Jade SDS product for replicating a Jade database to another server, but from what I've heard it costs a bomb, and would only do part of the job we want. We also need to mirror changes to static files outside of the jade environment, and changes to things like IIS.
Most of the cluster/replication software on the market claim to be able to replicated open files. Has anyone had experience with this? Does this mean it could replicate changes made to the open Jade database files?
If anyone has been down this road and could recommend software or products they used, I would appreciate any guidance. Many Thanks
