Re: asOid() return is an invalid object

Thanks a lot for clearing that up for me. Makes a lot more sense now. The reason we use asOid() is because of JHP, we use the OID to store certain objects against the session. When we are checking if an object has been deleted I just need to make a change away from a null check to an isValidObject o...

asOid() return is an invalid object

I have just realised that the asOid() method always returns an object even if it is not valid vars currOid : String; jadeSkin : JadeSkin; begin currOid := "525.1"; //This is an invalid oid. jadeSkin := currOid.asOid().JadeSkin; if not app.isValidObject(jadeSkin) then write "**INVALID ...

Re: JadeEditor - Auto Complete

An update on this - I checked with Jade and the Autocomplete is only available within the Jade IDE. It has been considered in the past to put AutoComplete on the JadeEditor control as a New Feature but got rejected. Take a look at Parsys 64104 if you are interested.

JadeEditor - Auto Complete

Has anyone setup a JadeEditor to have Auto Complete enabled? We have developers that are able to Script on a clients system using a JadeEditor but it is not as good as it could be. If the developer was to have Auto Complete this would make their job a lot quicker and easier. I did find the constant ...

Cool feature we have just discovered

This is a fun test to run in a workspace. I doubt this is actually a problem for anyone but it does seem strange you can overwrite Classes and Jade Constants within a method.

Code: Select all

constants
   Object = "Why?";
   CrLf = "Not sure";
vars

begin
   write Object;
   write CrLf;
end;

Re: Faster string concatenation for large string

This is very interesting to me as we build up large HTML strings. Have you been using a common method to do this for you or do you just implement in each method as required? I'm hoping that we could use this by rolling out a primitive method for example "String::concat(stringToAdd)", I und...

Default values for primitives

I'm not sure if this has been discussed before but I think a great new feature would be adding default values for persistent primitives when they are created. If we add a Boolean to a class it would be nice if we could make the default TRUE in some cases. The easy way out of this is to just reverse ...

Re: Analysing Map Files

Thanks for that Allistar. I was thinking along the same lines regarding map files but have never really thought about it in the past. That changed when we had a 3 hour reorg on a 33GB data file (the disk speed on the server was not great). We could possibly get a rough idea on data size of each clas...

Analysing Map Files

We have an issue with some large data (.dat) files that we are wanting to remap using JCF by splitting out the large classes within that file. I have been trying to work out how to analyse a data file. I want to see for each class attached to that map how many instances and possibly how much space t...

Jade 7.1 Splash screen

So who are the people that have made the cut to be on the Jade 7.1 splash screen. I recognise one person but the others I'm not too sure who/why they made the cut! :P

Can I submit my picture for Jade 8?
